Peter Hart joined Wright, Robinson in 1990. Formerly a partner with a Redwood City, California law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation, Peter’s litigation experience includes numerous trials involving matters ranging from products liability and employment to insurance coverage and bad faith claims. Peter is engaged primarily in the defense of commercial air carriers, general aviation manufacturers, physicians, pharmacists, and retail businesses.  For the years 2004-2007, Peter was named a Super Lawyer by San Francisco Magazine. This placed him in the top five percent of Northern California attorneys.  Peter's primary clients are product manufacturers and distributors.. PRACTICE AREAS • Aviation • Products Liability • Medical Malpractice NOTABLE ENGAGEMENTS • Successfully represented overseas insurer in insurance coverage dispute with a major U.S. corporation regarding the number of occurrences under a comprehensive general liability policy • Successfully represented aviation manufacturer in five separate wrongful death actions involving aviation accidents • Successfully defended insurer in subrogation litigation brought by second insurer involving interpretation of the care, custody and control exclusion of a comprehensive general liability policy • Successfully represented emergency room physician in wrongful death action involving claims of failure to diagnose ectopic pregnancy • Successfully represented numerous commercial air carriers in personal injury matters involving air carrier operations • Successfully defended national design professional group against design negligence claims and prosecuted cross-complaint against design subconsultant for failure to defend main action, in three month trial • Successfully defended multi-national corporation and limited partnership in breach of real estate option action involving the sale of more than 1400 acres of property with a claimed value of more than $50 million; Obtained judgment in favor of client for reimbursement of all costs and attorneys fees • Successfully represented numerous physicians in professional negligence actions • Successfully represented convalescent hospital in negligent patient care claims • Successfully represented carousel manufacturer in products liability action involving design and failure to warn claims • Successfully represented pump manufacturer in products/environmental liability matter involving highly unusual medical issues • Successfully defended a tractor dealer against claim of negligent repair of a tractor where tractor started in gear and severely injured a worker. Jury returned verdict in two hours after seven-day trial.
